The Camp

One day, I signed up for a camp. Now, this camp wasn't just a simple 'pitch your tent up and roast a hotdog or two. This camp was something much more. In fact, to many people, this camp was home. This camp was a retreat, a getaway from the world. When you were cast down and ignored, you couldn't walk around this place without getting a 'Hey! How was your day?' Your cabin becomes your home, your counselor, your parent, and you launch into the week, ready for anything. You stay up till 2:00 a.m. and wake up 5 hours later. You go to bible class, learning about guilt, or spiritual discipline, and even talking to people about God. And, in some cases, you even rolled around on the ground and looked at calenders. We cried together, killed each other with waterballoons, and laughed until we hurt. We sang, prayed, and devoed under the gazeebo. We wittnessed people giving their souls to God, and we accepted them as the brothers and sisters that they are. And most of all, we found out who really was The Biggest Loser. We made relationships, and got drenched. Some of us lost weight, and alot of people became skinny. Some of us have still weight, but are still deciding on letting it go. But we all left knowing that we all loved each other like a huge family. From telling everyone who I really was and how I really felt about things, to getting destroyed in the face with a waterballoon launcher by Camryn Johnson, to Pushing Erin on the swing and just chillin, I can honestly say, that Sardis Lake Christian Camp is home, and that a lot of people feel the exact same way. Peace out guys.
