The Doors
One day, a man came to me at lunch. He said that he had this weird dream, and that he would like my opinion on it. I told him that I would be more than happy to. So, he sat down beside me and started. He began with the setting. A huge, white Void. In the Void, there was a single door. Nothing fancy, just a plain old door. So, I walked up to it, and opened it. I walked through and went to what seemed like a theater booth. There were two seats, but one was occupied. The man that sat in it looked as if he was from the middle east. He had long brown hair and a brown beard. Then I realized. This man, was Jesus. I sat down beside him and looked out at the view in front of me. There was a man that was weeping. He sat on this bench and just cried. A woman walked up to him, and hugged him. "That's his wife you know," Jesus said. I just looked at him puzzled. "Their child just died. He was a cancer patient. And now, they are wondering what to do next. Why don't you go tell them," he said. I said I would try so I got up and went to them. They just sat there in their grief, and I felt a little out of place. I told them hi and sat beside them. They cleaned up a little and greeted me back. I asked them if they could use some help. They said that they were fine. I asked them where they went to church. They said they didn't. Oh, I thought. THAT'S what he was talking about. I asked them if they would come to my church on Sunday. They said that they would, and would like to sit with me. I told them that would be great and then, I left. I went back to my seat, and asked Jesus to please explain what was going on. He simply replied,"There are many different doors, you just chose this one." He then explained that this dream was an example to show me that these little situations, all lead up to opening another door to another situation, and that it just kept happening like that. And, finally, my eyes were opened both figuratively and physically. "So," he asked, "I believe that there are many doors, we just have to have the courage to open them."
